Today, August 6, marks the 48th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act if 1865. As Democrats we believe in the right of every American to vote. Throughout our history, Americans have fought and died for the right to vote. And while we’ve made significant progress, even today there are those who seek to limit voting rights.
Just a quick reminder: TODAY (Wednesday, July 17th at 11:00 am MST) is the Senate’s critical first hearing on proposals to restore the Voting Rights Act after the right-wing Supreme Court gutted its key components.
