State Central Committee Community Service Event- Supply Drive

In partnership with our upcoming State Central Committee Meeting being held on September 12, 2015 at noon at the Las Cruces Hilton Garden Inn, the Budget and Finance Committee will be hosting a Community Service Project to benefit the Jardín de los Niños of Las Cruces.

Jardín de los Niños provides early childhood education, therapeutic intervention, and comprehensive services to homeless and near homeless children, from the ages of six weeks to 10 years, and their families.

* One of two programs in the state providing these services to this unique population, and
* One of only five original programs of its kind in the nation.

Their mission at Jardín de los Niños is:

* To create new possibilities for homeless and near homeless children and their families.

Often times, families arrive at Jardín for assistance with little more than the clothes on their backs. Jardín de los Niños accepts donations for everything such as:

* art supplies and diapers
* to shoes, clothing, food, and books.

These types of donations help meet their specific and immediate needs while also keeping their classrooms stocked with fun and educational materials for the kiddos.

Democrats are known for their commitment to serving our neighbors; the Budget and Finance Committee is proud to host this service project as a part of its mission to serve the Party.

The Budget and Finance Committee asks that as a part of your attendance at the SCC meeting, you donate an item to benefit the children served by Jardín de los Niños.

* Items will be collected at the SCC meeting and then taken to the agency for distribution.

The Budget and Finance Committee thanks you in advance for your generous donation of a much needed item(s) to these members of the Las Cruces community, who are among the most vulnerable of our population.
