Governor Martinez Delivers Final State of the State on the Heels of Grim Child Well-Being Report

New Mexico – On the heels of a grim child-wellbeing report, Governor Martinez delivered a State of the State address that refused to acknowledge that her legacy has left New Mexico with one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, the worst place to raise a family, and at the bottom for child-wellbeing.
“Governor Martinez refused to acknowledge the terrible position she has put our state in over the years. Under Governor Martinez, we’ve seen devastating budget cuts, a failing education system, and the highest unemployment rate in the nation. It’s safe to say we’re ready to move on because our state can’t afford another eight years like the last eight.
“We know that our Democratic legislators will be spending the next 30 days in Santa Fe fighting to help local economies, ensure open and transparent government, improve education, and ensure communities are safe for all New Mexicans.”
