DPNM Congratulates Michelle Lujan Grisham on CHC Chair Election

New Mexico – Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico congratulated Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham on her election as chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. 

“New Mexico Democrats are proud to have Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham in a leadership position in the U.S. House of Representatives,” said Debra Haaland, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. “Her role as leader of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus will benefit our state as a whole and especially our Hispanic communities.”

Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012, and has served as First Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus for the past two years. She was elected chair by the members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and will serve a two year term. 

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is a congressional member organization governed by the rules of the U.S. House of Representatives. The caucus works as a forum for Hispanic members of the chamber to address the concerns that effect hispanic communities throughout the country.
