Belen, N.M. – Today, more than 400 supporters gathered in Valencia County to support N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez in Belen. At the event, U.S. Senator Tom Udall, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, Congressman Ben Ray Luján, and Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham spoke in support of Senator Sanchez highlighting the need to keep Senator Sanchez leading the N.M. Senate citing his work on the lottery scholarship, support for behavioral health services, and work to improve Valencia County infrastructure.

“Today was an amazing day to kick off our final get out the vote efforts and thank the community for all their support during this campaign,” said N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez. “We’re particularly proud to have the support of our entire Democratic congressional delegation, and the Democratic members of my chamber. We’re going to start the final days of GOTV strong, and work to ensure everyone makes their voice heard in this election.”

Today’s event was a resounding rejection of the misleading and false attacks against N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez. The Senate District 29 election has been particularly contentious—especially because Governor Martinez’s PAC, Advance New Mexico Now poured hundreds of thousands of mostly Texas oil dollars into misleading TV ads and mailers with blatantly false information.
