Farmington, N.M. – Local Democratic leaders will highlight just how wrong the Trump/Pence ticket is for San Juan County ahead of Donald Trump Jr.’s stops in Farmington and Shiprock today, Friday, November 4, 2016.
Donald Trump has along history of insulting Native Americans in efforts to line his own pockets. Donald Trump made unsubstantiated and offensive claims about “organized crime” in Native American gaming, showing his complete lack of knowledge and respect for Native American tribes.
As the election nears, it becomes increasingly clear that the Donald Trump campaign’s divisive and dangerous rhetoric is not resonating in New Mexico. Donald Trump, the Republican Party of New Mexico and Republican candidates like Sharon Clahchischilliage continue to stand by Trump, despite his vulgar comments about women, complete misunderstanding of government-to-government relationships with tribes, and reckless allegations about the integrity of our elections.
Press Conference speakers include Democratic Party of New Mexico Chairwoman Debra Haaland, San Juan County Democratic Party Chair Henry Silentman, Former New Mexico Representative Albert Shirley, and Farmington Resident Gloria Lehmer.
