Ethics Complaint Exposes Unexplained Reimbursements, Unidentified Donors
New Mexico – Today, the Secretary of State’s office released information regarding a lengthy ethics complaint filed against Rep. Nora Espinoza, the GOP nominee for Secretary of State.
The complaint details a litany of campaign finance violations including failing to properly describe campaign expenditures, failing to properly disclose the purpose of expenditures, failure to report one donor per contribution and failure to properly identify donor occupations. The full complaint can be found here.
“Dianna Duran went to jail for playing shell games with campaign money and now Nora Espinoza has been caught hiding information about her expenses and her donors,” said Debra Haaland, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. “New Mexicans need leadership we can trust – not more of the same political games that got us into this mess. How can Espinoza be trusted to enforce the rules when she clearly can’t figure out how to follow the rules for her own campaign?”
