Albuquerque, N.M. – The Democratic Party of New Mexico applauded Senator Tom Udall for his success in bringing bill to keep Americans safe from harmful chemicals to the President’s desk.
Today, President Obama signed an overhaul of the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA), which U.S. Senator Tom Udall shepherded through the U.S. Senate and worked tirelessly to forge an agreement between the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.
“At a time when Republicans obstruct common-sense solutions on almost every issue, Senator Udall successfully brought a bill that will keep children and communities in New Mexico safe from harmful chemicals. We are proud of Senator Udall and his persistence in getting this bill across the finish line,” said Debra Haaland, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico.
