Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) applauded Attorney General Hector Balderas for his efforts to protect children from online predators. The attorney general announced today that the two-month-long coordinated statewide law enforcement sweep called Operation Broken Heart conducted 63 search warrants, made 21 arrests/served arrest warrants, presented 156 cyber safety trainings reaching over 5,400 attendees, and conducted three public safety events impacting over 8,770 attendees across New Mexico.
“Attorney General Hector Balderas is committed to keeping our kids safe, and Operation Broken Heart produced results that put predators behind bars and will keep children out of harm’s way,” said Debra Haaland, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. “We’re proud of the contributions Attorney General Hector Balderas has made to the safety of our communities, and the work he as done to coordinate federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies should be an example of what is possible when we put the needs of New Mexicans first.”
