Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) reminded New Mexico residents to register to vote before the May 10 deadline, and launched a voter registration web page on their website. The voter registration website portal contains instructions on how to register and links to important voter information and online registration.
“Voting is one of the most important responsibilities we have a citizens,” said Debra Haaland Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. “It’s imperative New Mexico residents make their voices heard and register before the deadline. DPNM has voter registration information and helpful links on our website.”

In order to vote in the primaries, residents must be registered 28 days prior to the election, which means the deadline for the 2016 primary is May 10.
New Mexico will hold a closed primary on June 7. Those who wish to vote in the Democratic primary must be registered as a Democrat to participate.
