Community volunteers participate in DPNM and N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez’s Community Day of Action.
Today, the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) and N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez hosted a Community Day of Action in Belen. The Community Day of Action engaged community members to talk to their neighbors about the election and the importance of voting. Volunteers knocked on doors, called their neighbors on the phone, and helped increase voter awareness.
“We are extremely excited that so many volunteers came out for our Community Day of Action,” said DPNM Vice Chair and Belen resident Juan Sanchez III. “As we continue to move toward the 2016 election, Democrats are committed to starting grassroots efforts across the state, and ensuring we’re all getting involved to work for a better future for all New Mexicans.”
“This election cycle, it will be absolutely crucial for Democrats across New Mexico to come together,” said N.M. Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez. “We need to bring our message of job creation, improved schools, and safer communities to everyone in the state. The best way to do that is a true grassroots effort to persuade voters one at a time at their doors and in their communities.”
The Democratic Party of New Mexico recently kicked off a Tribal and Rural Community Initiative to ensure residents in those communities have a voice in our election process. More information on DPNM’s Tribal and Rural Community Initiative is available here.
