Senators Udall, Heinrich Issue Statements on Brussels Terrorist Attacks

U.S. Senator Tom Udall, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement:

“Today, we stand with the people of Brussels and all of our allies as we all confront international terrorists who oppose our shared human values. I urge the United States to provide assistance in the effort to bring those responsible to justice. We will defeat terrorism around the world, and such attacks only reinforce our resolve. I know there are many New Mexicans who are concerned about family and friends in Brussels. The U.S. Embassy is making every effort to account for all U.S. citizens in Brussels. Americans may contact or 1-888-407-4747 from within the United States. Americans in Belgium may telephone +(32) (2) 811-4000 or (after hours) +(32) (0) (2) 811-4000.”

U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich released the following statement today on the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgium:

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of this heinous attack. The United States stands in solidarity with Belgium and Europe. A coordinated attack on an airport and metro station is intended to kill as many innocent civilians as possible. This is yet another tragic reminder of why we must relentlessly and intelligently target and eliminate ISIS and other terrorist threats.”
