Debra Haaland: Weekly Update

Dear Democrats,

What a wild week in New Mexico politics as we enter the holiday season! Here at Democratic Headquarters we are preparing for our annual Legislative Dinner, which will be held on January 20, 2016 at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe. We are especially excited to honor our legislators this year, who continually serve as our last line of defense against this corruption riddled administration and anti-worker, anti-union, anti-woman Republican House. I hope that you will join us as these brave individuals embark upon another session of standing up for what is right for New Mexican families, children, and workers. For more information about tickets and other general inquiries regarding the event, contact Douglas Pacheco-Myers at (505) 830-3650, by email doug@nmdemocrats.org or follow the link.

Speaking of corruption-riddled administrations, I’m sure you have seen the headlines that Governor Martinez has made over the past few days. From throwing bottles, to intimidating Santa Fe police officers and hotel staff after officers were called to the scene, to the FBI now looking into her days as a District Attorney in Doña Ana County, it’s been a busy week for the Governor as she tries to spin her way out of this one by laying blame at the feet of her staffers.

With all that exciting news, it was easy to miss that former Secretary of State Dianna Duran arrived at the Santa Fe County Jail to begin serving her 30-day jail term stemming from a 64-count indictment she faced earlier this year.

I know I’ve said this many times before but it truly is an honor to serve you. We have been given a tremendous opportunity to change the conversation about who’s right and most fit to help chart the future of New Mexico. All of us here at DPNM look forward to making sure our agenda, our priorities and our principals of good conduct are what voters are talking about in 2016. Let’s all work together to ensure victory for the men, women and children of our state.

Happy Holidays,

Deb
