Ad Buy Part of DPNM’s Work to Hold Gov. Accountable for Corruption & Scandal
The Democratic Party of New Mexico on Friday launched an aggressive social media campaign to connect New Mexicans with a website, www.martinezhouseofcards.com, where they can add their voice to the increasingly loud call for Gov. Susana Martinez to take a stand and stop the culture of corruption that has flourished in her administration.
“New Mexicans have had enough,” said Democratic Party of New Mexico Executive Director Joe Kabourek. “From Farmington to Las Cruces, people want a way to send a message to the governor that the corruption and scandals in her administration are not acceptable. MartinezHouseofCards.com is an easy way for voters to make their voices heard.”
Specifically, the Martinez Administration has seen Taxation and Revenue Department Secretary Demesia Padilla investigated for abuse of power; Secretary of State Dianna Duran resign in disgrace after pleading guilty to criminal charges; and political adviser Jay McCleskey under FBI investigation for fundraising irregularities and reports that he created shell companies to funnel campaign dollars to his business.
“This website and ad campaign allow New Mexicans to easily take a stand against corruption,” Kabourek said. “Already, we’ve seen a tremendous response. New Mexicans deserve a government that works for them.”
The website, paid for by the Democratic Party of New Mexico, includes a petition that concerned New Mexicans can sign on to. The social media ads, which DPNM is also paying for, are a strategic tool to increase traffic to the website and the petition.
