Debra Haaland: Weekly Update

Dear Democrats,

We have an exciting July ahead of us that I am really looking forward to after spending yesterday in Taos at the Fiestas Parade with supporters of Congressman Ben Ray Luján. Taos was particularly beautiful this year and the rain we’ve received there and all over New Mexico the past few weeks has been a blessing.

Last week I met with Sandoval County Women Democrats to talk about voter registration issues. Additionally, this past Friday I saw many fellow Democrats at the HSD Public Comments on the Employment and Training program for folks on SNAP. Everyone who testified opposed the proposed changes including yours truly. The negative impacts it will have on our citizens in need, particularly children, was a recurring theme of the testimony throughout the day.

Make plans now to join us this Wednesday, July 22nd for our first summer BBQ at Morningside Park, located at Lead and Morningside Ave SE. at 6:00 pm. We’ll have the hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as various games so please bring your family and an appetite! I look forward to seeing you!

DPNM is also excited to host a Night at the Ballpark with myself and Tim Keller at Isotopes Park July 28th. Space is limited so please RSVP with Robert at to reserve your spot in the luxury suite today! It will be a great evening to enjoy some good conversation and a great ballgame!

Last, we are beginning the volunteer recruitment process for Election 2016, so if you are interested in getting involved and helping Democrats win New Mexico in 2016, please reach out to Alonso Poblano at and ask him to add you to our list!

That’s all for now – I hope I get to see you at one of our upcoming events!

In your service,

Debra Haaland
DPNM State Chairwoman
