On my way home from the dedication ceremony of NM 285 to Speaker Ben Luján it rained and I had to pull over and take a photo of the beautiful New Mexico landscape. This could happen almost anywhere in our state, and along with the blessing of so much rain, a fresh and optimistic outlook just adds to my enthusiasm about our future.
Sunday I was invited to Collected Works bookstore in Santa Fe to speak about the Party, my vision, and to allow folks to hear a little about my past and how I came to be involved in our Party. I answered many questions and came away with the impression that in Santa Fe, as well as anywhere I’ve visited since taking office, that New Mexico Democrats are ready to win in 2016!
I was happy to see so many Democrats – from all over the state come to Española for the dedication ceremony of the portion of NM Highway 285 between Santa Fe and Española for Congressman Luján’s father. I was so proud to see Speaker Luján receive the recognition for his service to New Mexico that he so clearly deserves.
Later this month, we have some fun events coming up that we would love for everyone to attend. On July 22nd, we are having our first monthly Democratic BBQ at Morningside Park, from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Morningside Park is located at the corner of Morningside and Lead SE in Albuquerque. We would love to have you there! On July 28th you can watch an Isotopes baseball game with me and State Auditor Tim Keller at 6:30 pm in a private suite. Space is very limited so if you are interested, please contact our Finance Director Rob Leming at firstname.lastname@example.org or 505.830.3650. And finally on August 8th, we will be hosting a Republican Debate Watch Party, with the location yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates!
