Debra Haaland: Weekly Update

Dear Democrat,

This week’s update comes from the road, as I’m in Roosevelt County with the Democratic Women and at the Curry County Democratic meeting with our CD-3 Vice Chair Charlotte Roybal! First, our House and Senate Democrats successfully brokered a capital outlay package that makes sure nearly $300 million reaches our communities that need jjit most. Later in the week, the Democrats defeated Labor for the first time ever in our annual athletic competitions, and we had a tremendous turnout of candidates and volunteers at Albuquerque Pride on Saturday!

Additionally, our Executive Director search is well underway, and I am pleased to report that we have over 25 extremely well qualified candidates that have applied, and I am looking forward to working with our search committee to ensure that DPNM has the best candidate possible when the process concludes.

Also, please don’t forget to attend Senator Michael Padilla’s Job Fair this Wednesday, June 17th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Harrison Middle School Gym, located at 3912 Isleta Blvd SW, featuring more than 75 employers!

Lastly, I’d like to remind you that we have our event honoring Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez this Thursday June 18th at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center at 2401 12th Street NW in Albuquerque. Senator Sanchez has worked tirelessly to uphold Democratic ideals in the State Legislature and I know he would love to share the evening with you. There will be food and drinks available. Please RSVP to Rob Leming at or call at 505-830-3650.

In your service,

Debra Haaland
DPNM State Chairwoman
