Congressman Ben Ray Luján: 100 Days into Congress, Republicans Putting Special Interests Ahead of Working Families

Congressman Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico’s Third District released the following statement marking the 100th day of the Republican-controlled Congress that is putting the needs of special interests ahead of hard-working families.

“From day one, House Republicans have pursued an agenda that looks out for the special interests instead of addressing the pressing needs of hard-working Americans in New Mexico and across the nation.  They have governed from one manufactured crisis to the next, brought the Department of Homeland Security to the brink of a shutdown, and voted time and again to strip health care coverage from millions of Americans.”

“Democrats instead are focused on growing paychecks for hard-working Americans, rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, and making it easier to send a kid to college.  The people of New Mexico deserve better than House Republicans’ dismal record over the past 100 days, and Democrats have a plan to put working families first.”
