NM Senate Committee Defeats “Right to work for less” Legislation

Republican anti-worker bill defeated

Yesterday the NM Senate Public Affairs Committee defeated “right to work for less” legislation pushed by state Republicans and selfish business interests.

DPNM Chairman Sam Bregman: “Governor Martinez and NM House Republicans have attempted to ram through the worst piece of anti-worker legislation in the past 50 years. Fortunately, Senate Democrats said ‘no’ and proudly stood for working men and women in New Mexico. This bill was a partisan attempt by the Governor and state Republicans to destroy labor unions, while running away from their lousy record of producing zero jobs and doing nothing while thousands of New Mexicans moved out-of-state over the past 4 years.

Republicans need to join Democrats and focus on job creation instead of punishing working families,” Bregman added.
