Several hundred Democrats convened in Taos over the weekend to conduct party business, celebrate state and county Democratic candidates as well as hear an update on national politics from ‘Rising Star’ DNC National Political Director and New Mexico native son Raul Alvillar.

“This weekend was a chance to honor our grassroots Democrats, county chairs and party activists that do the hard work every single day to elect our candidates.  This was a great weekend and helped to energize state Democrats as we head into the last 44 days of the 2014 election,” stated DPNM Chairman Sam Bregman.

In addition, DPNM honored former Senator Fred Harris with a lifetime achievement award.  Among other notable achievements in a life devoted to public service, was Senator Harris’s sponsorship of HR 471 that returned Blue Lake Mountain back to Taos Pueblo in 1970.

DPNM continues to build a better future.
