The DNC Hope Institute: Apply to be a 2014 Hope Fellow Today

It’s with great excitement that the Democratic National Committee announces its next Hope Institute training, taking place from February 26th to February 28th, 2014 in Washington, DC. Following two highly successful classes in 2013, the DNC will invite 40 selected applicants from diverse backgrounds to be Hope Fellows and participate in a three-day intensive training in politics, campaigns, and policy as they begin their careers in public service.

The Hope Institute is the Democratic National Committee’s crash course for talented, aspiring young people from underrepresented backgrounds, providing the tools and training necessary to enter careers in political fundraising, nation- and statewide campaigns, and politically minded organizations. First established in 2005 as “Yes We Can!” by then-Senator Barack Obama, this program continues to be a success, with each subsequent class moving on to fruitful careers.

The DNC held its inaugural Hope Institute in June 2013, selecting a class of 40 Hope Fellows out of over 350 applicants nationwide. The Fellows heard firsthand from former campaign managers, elected officials, budding politicos, and current White House senior staff and learned what it takes to manage campaigns, run for office, and be successful in Democrat and progressive causes.

The Democratic Party of New Mexico and the Democratic National Committee invite New Mexico’s young people to apply and join the next generation of Democratic leaders.

The deadline to apply is Friday, January 10th.
