The Democratic Party of New Mexico is strong, energized and organizing for state elections in 2014. We have five candidates for Governor, a strong candidate for Secretary of State, outstanding individuals for Attorney General and State Auditor and three candidates vying for the Dem nomination for State Treasurer. In addition, Dem State Land Commissioner Ray Powell just announced that his office earned $68 million in revenue for October—the third highest revenue in the agency’s history!
In September DPNM hosted a lively Jobs Forum and in the past few days we hosted an Education Forum that highlighted Dem ideas and solutions that will provide a world class education for our kids. This forum featured Democratic state legislators, the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association and Voices for Children. Unlike Governor Martinez, Democrats understand that everyone must come to the table and help provide the solutions to help children in New Mexico, not just arrogant, inexperienced political hacks.
Democrats maintain a majority in both houses of the legislature; hold both U.S. Senate seats as well as two out of three congressional seats. Why? Because voters have consistently agreed with and approved our ideas and vision for the future, time after time, election after election.
“Governor Martinez has no ideas or vision for New Mexico. Democrats are ready with solutions to move our state forward, while giving our kids a world class education. That’s part of our commitment to building the future,” stated DPNM Chairman Sam Bregman.
Today. Right now.
