A Time to Remember—Patriot Day

12 Years ago our nation lost over 3000 of its best and brightest, to terrorist killers. Their loss remains with us now and forever.  Our world changed on September 11, 2001 in ways that affect each and every one of us.  More security, less trust and a sense that we must always be on guard, wherever we are and wherever we go.

September 11 is celebrated as Patriot Day, to commemorate the 3000+ lives that were lost in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania on that fateful day.  The President asks all Americans to observe a moment of silence at 6:46 AM, MDT to commemorate the moment that the first plane slammed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The DPNM mourns the loss of our fellow Americans, asking all New Mexicans to join in this moment of silence.  Freedom does not come easily at anytime or for any generation.

God bless the United States and the state of New Mexico.
