Freshman State Senator Michael Padilla started up a successful business with the goal of bringing jobs to New Mexico. He is the owner of Altivus CRM Solutions, which has employed over 3,000 people across New Mexico. The company provides call center operations and consulting services.
The 2013 Legislative Session was successful for Senator Padilla. As a freshman, Senator Padilla was influential in changing the landscape of life in his district in the South Valley of Bernalillo County. Thanks to capital outlay funding from Senator Padilla and the combined efforts of 22 Albuquerque area Legislators, New Mexico will soon have the first urban wildlife refuge in the world. It is this reason, amongst others, that Senator Michael Padilla is the Democratic Party of New Mexico’s spotlight Legislator of the week.
Dubbed Valle de Oro (Valley of Gold), the urban wildlife refuge will span 700 acres, result in jobs to manage the refuge’s day to day operations, and will inject approximately $10 million into the New Mexico economy as it is implemented.
Valle de Oro is some of the last available land in the South Valley, and rather than develop it, Padilla says there are 3 key reasons that it should be preserved.
Senator Padilla is the sponsor of a Job Fair on Wednesday July 10th at Harrison Middle School.
DPNM looks forward to working closely with Senator Padilla and thanks him for his dedication to the principles and platform of the Democratic Party.
